The FDA has approved Deseyne contact lenses with extended depth of focus for the correction of presbyopia, according to a press release from Bruno Vision Care.
It is the first daily disposable soft contact lens in the U.S. featuring extended depth of focus (EDOF), rather than a multifocal design, to correct presbyopia, according to the release. It allows for “continuous focus from near to far, with no patient cognitive adaptation period required,” Eddie Catalfamo, cofounder and CEO of Cataltheia Group, of which Bruno Vision Care is a subsidiary, told Healio.
